Cosuk Lanka, the premier coir manufacturing mill in the Western Province started operations in 1950 as Nevil Fibre Mill at Udammita, Ja Ela. Throughout sixty five years in which the management has passed from the founder, the late Preyeswin Kulasekara to the third generation of his family, the mill has enjoyed a consistent reputation and credibility as a supplier of high quality Sri Lankan coir products to its clientele. Employing manual and mechanical manufacturing methods and skilled workers Cosuk Lanka produces machine twisted fibre, coco peat, twine and charcoal.
Having established the mill in 1950 Mr. Preyeswin Kulasekara held the reins until 1974, when it passed to his son Herbert Kulasekara. Mr.Shanaka Kulasekara, the latter’s son succeeded his late father in 1998 with Eureka Rodrigo.
